    Registration From 09:00 at the squash entrance near the Flagpole (TBC – Teri)

    All ages Coach/Refs Briefing: 09:30 upstairs in the clubhouse (TBC – Andy C) – First game 10:00

    Your support in adhering to the published times is appreciated.

    • Please be at the designated pitch for your matches on time (ideally 5 minutes before).
    • If your designated referee has not arrived then do not wait. Please be pragmatic (e.g. referee one half each) and start the game.
    • Match duration TBC due to RFU regulations and number of teams

    U10 is 8+7 subs – Squad 15
    U11 is 9+7 subs – Squad 16
    U12 is 12+7 subs – Squad 19

    Hi All

    Looking forward to finally running the Bedfordshire Festival on Sunday at Biggleswade

    I know some teams have other commitments, and also some have an extra side and want to enter an extra side, so the festival is looking great.

    If you could send an email with the following so we can accurately arrange the food, and the fixtures that would be great, as soon as possible.

    • Team Name (age and teams)
    • total players for food
    • any special food requirements

    Don’t forget Player Registration forms on the day, and photo permission forms, for any one taking pictures to be handed at registration.

    Details remain the same, Parking will be across the road, with club side for one/2 cars max per age for coaches/medical staff and officials, please advise all parents they will be across the road.

    Yes we are finally going to run this festival, please advise final numbers for food.

    Otherwise as before, parking across the road and all games on the club side.

    UPDATE 04/04/18

    Biggleswade would like to confirm we would like to try again to run this years U10/11/12 Mini festival and would like to do it on the 22nd April

    Please can you confirm if this is suitable and confirm teams, squad sizes etc once again.

    We would welcome any teams wanting to play,

    • Beds Minis Festival – Team Registration Form – email before & brought on the day
    • Please confirm if 2 sides do you want A and B – or something else (eg lions/tigers blues/reds rats/rabbits etc) to ensure no player thinks they are in a less important squad? (if not done)

    Car Parking:

    Car Parking for all sides, and players is on the other side of  the road on Sheepwalk, please follow marshals on the day and park where advised.

    • No parking on Langford Road or up Sheepwalk Lane
    • Parking at the Club House main car park is only for officials, disabled and coaches (with heavy equipment to carry etc) max 2 vehicles per team

    • Any one coming on a coach or minibus please contact Biggleswade by email by Friday the 16th at the latest

    Format:

    The Festival will be played under the RFU’s New Rules of Play and the Bedfordshire Mini Festival rules 2018. Key points:
    • All players must be registered with the RFU.
    • Each Team must provide a registration sheet with player name, date of birth and RFU Number. email before and Bring on the day
    • Please do not exceed the maximum team size

    U7 is 4×2 +4 subs – Squad 12
    U8 is 6+7 subs – Squad 13
    U9 is 7+7 subs – Squad 14
    U10 is 8+7 subs – Squad 15
    U11 is 9+7 subs – Squad 16
    U12 is 12+7 subs – Squad 19

    • All sides play a series of round robin games. There will be no play off between pools.
    • In adherence with the RFU guidelines, match results will not be recorded, managed or held centrally.
    • There are participation medals this season – Bedfordshire RFU  Please do not bring your own medals, trophies etc, as this is contrary to the RFU guidelines.
    • Each Team should provide at least one competent referee

    • Match duration of each half will be as follows;

    Age
    Under 7s and 8s           5 minutes
    Under 9s and 10s         6 minutes
    Under 11s and 12s       7 minutes

    In addition there will be 2 minutes for half time. No Extra time can be played at all

    Great care must be taken not to exceed the permitted playing time for the day, as prescribed in the RFU continuum.

    Food:
    Players: The players food is to be collected from squash court 4 with the ticket collected at registration.
    Spectators: Food and drinks will be available in and around the Club House from the kitchen and bar.

    Toilets:

    There will be toilet facilities for player and spectators at the Club House

    First Aid:

    First aid will be located at the front of the club house near the flag pole (TBC  GAZ) . Each team should also have a qualified first aider.

    Dogs: Dogs are not permitted on any grass areas including the carpark and sheepwalk.  The only exception is for working guide dogs and assistance dogs.

    Photography: If supporters wish to take photographs during the festival they will need to complete the
    RFU Photo Event Form and return to the registration area.

     

    Pitch Layout:

    U10 are on the 3rd team pitch
    U11 are on the flood lit pitch
    U12 are on the first team pitch nearest the road
